Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Weather couldn’t have been more perfect over the Christmas weekend, and the big reds were on the shallow mud flats ready to bite. Started off catching several with the 110sr, but once I started throwing Topwater that was it. 10-20lb fish blowing up in 1-2’, looking like torpedos popping up behind m...

Re: Drag Holder Reef Spring

When you're breaking down a new (to you) reel, take cellphone pictures before you remove each layer, so you'll know what went where.
And do it over a large cloth-covered area, so falling parts won't bounce.

Re: Okuma Hakai

According to TW, the Hakai has centrifugal brakes, and still weighs 5.9 oz with a brass main gear. "Providing quick access to the spool by simply sliding a lever on the side plate, the Okuma Hakai Casting Reels allow for quick spool tension changes and adjustment of the Velocity Control Centrifugal ...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Forgive what may be dumb question, but do you carry spare spools with different line sizes and types? I ask because I did that years ago, before braid with a fluoro leader became a thing. I was going to get a Tatula 200 and use 20# Big Game on the deep spool and punch and flip with 65# braid on the...

I hope it gets better soon. I can't take pain meds either, so I know you're suffering. Keep the faith, "this too shall pass".

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Just started using walking topwater lures and this is the first fish with that technique on the second cast ever. The fish "hit" the lure, but did not hookup. I paused the retrieve, then twitched the lure twice and it was on! Also just started using a spinnerbait a few weeks ago. First couple of ca...

Re: What happened to Shimano’s quality control?

What happens when a rod goes clicking on the cast is usually when a rod has been flex to the point where the epoxy on the line guides has cracked. The threads are still holding the foot of the line guides but the epoxy bonding may no longer be fully bonded. While the line guide still remains in pla...
