Re: Alphas Appreciation Thread

https://i.imgur.com/ny9y7wo.jpg I finally found a reel to put on the Daiwa AGS MMH. A match made in heaven. I was getting really good distance with 1/4 oz speed trap cranks, and burning them back was effortless. The combo looks awesome =D> Thanks! It works awesome too. Caught all 5 of these footbal...

Re: How many rods?

6 on tournament days.

Single hook moving bait rod, swim jig/jig rod, frog rod, punching rod, all around treble bait rod, spinning rod for finesse.

I have rotated through most of them on some tournaments, but mainly use the single hook, frog, and punching rod. Never know what you may need.

Re: Casting Setups

Haven't had any issues with your Steez A ticking have you? I am ready to get mine back, that being said, I hope it wasn't a serious issue, seems like you put yours through heavier duty work than mine. It's louder than it was when new, but under load with a lure it quiets back up. I do hear a tick e...

Re: Megabass P5 Tequila Baccarac for Punching

I do not boat flip. Can not answer that question. Ya I would say the sweet spot is 2oz or so. I love this rod so much. I am waiting on them to get back in stock. Want a 2nd one. Not much this rod can not do. Thanks for the feedback. There are a few places that have it in stock. I get it tomorrow. S...

Megabass P5 Tequila Baccarac for Punching

Anyone try it for punching? I broke the tip on my dedicated punching rod (8' Tatula elite ags flip/punch rod) boat flipping :-({|= a 1 pounder. While waiting to see if they will even warranty it I decided to buy the P5 Tequila Baccarac for the same duties. I wanted to try a shorter rod for punching....

Re: Daiwa Rod Repair/Breakage Policy

I just broke a 3 week old Ish Monroe 8' Tatula Elite Flip/Punch rod boat flipping a 15" fish. About 8 inches from the tip. This is the first rod I've ever broken with a fish. I'm going to sum it up to a defect somewhere because I also have the 7'9" Ish Monroe Tatula Elite Long Cast Frog rod for 3+ye...

Re: Casting Setups

The 7-9 rod would be WAY too long for topwater, for me personally, anyway. I actually use a 6-6 custom Rainshadow RX7 SJ 781 casting with spiral-wrapped micros for smaller topwater and jerkbaits, and a Phenix Maxim 6-10mh for bigger topwaters. The 7'9" is Ish Monroe designed long cast frog rod. It ...

I'm planning to maximize the efficiency of my setups. This is what I've come up with so far. Re: Looking for a quality snap.

I use kahara. #000 for my spinning setups and #0 for baitcasting. Only time they have failed me is when I catch a pike through thick weeds and it alligator rolls with weeds stuck on it. The failure is usually due to the twisting motion applied to the snap imparted by the fish while the lure or line ...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

On the topic of super destroyer.. I was pulling em outta thick lily pads with a weightless 4.8 keitech on a worm hook. Nothing too big (17.5 inches the biggest) and not the best at it but it got the job done. I mainly use it to throw lipless cranks, square bills, and weighted/unweighted 4.8 keitechs...

Re: Yo-Zuri lipless fans ...

Put on your covid mask so nobody recognizes you and take the walk of shame into your local WalMart (I won't tell  ) Most of them have a Yo-Zuri assortment box on the bottom shelf of the fishing aisle. It's a random mix of all types of baits with rarities and oddities mixed in. All are priced w...
