Re: 10lb braid on metanium?

I use 10lb on baitcasters quite a lot and I like it. Depends on brand, roundness and thickness (mm?) though.

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's

Never thought I would like a rosy silver reel on a dark blank rod with an airbrushed fake wood reel seat of all things but here we are and I like it. Somehow the contrasting colors but warm tones work. https://i.ibb.co/c3mc3Kn/20211202-224810.jpg https://i.ibb.co/xGN6mQ1/20211202-224800.jpg Looks g...

Best looking reel Daiwa has produced in a while - imo. I want one, but I will hold off until until others have used it with different spools. Don't need another BFS reel. Or should I say, HYPER BFS reel.
I will get once hyper tws, hyper utd, and hyper g1 spool is installed…

Re: 2022 Daiwa Silver Creek Air TW Stream Custom

Line capacity actually decent - they recommend no more than 40m and both 0.6 and 0.8 PE is 40m.

They keep coming out with new bfs/trout reels:

28 mm spool, fixed inductor, low line capacity.
Looks nice…

Re: Have you ever been disappointed after an upgrade?

I have often been disappointed with the effect or lack thereof of a bearing upgrade. It can improve feel/castability/distance but often does not. However, a bearing upgrade is among the easiest upgrades you can do, and I have done it to most of my reels. I encourage you to give it a try💪. See what h...

I don't and then wonder why I end up with a line caught under other line after I have already threaded the rod and have a bait tied on.
X2.

However, I have invested in some ValleyHill rubber stoppers that I like (and may end up using)…

This is way too funny, cuz I always though that G.Loomis rods were the ugliest rods ever.

Re: St Croix

I like St Croix - a lot. Especially their older/classic series of rods. The Avid and Legend Elite Salmon/Steelhead casting rods are spot on IMO. I have caught so many fish on those rods… They do make some duds, and I did not love the Mojo inshore. Generally, I prefer the St Croix styling and looks o...
