OSP Hardbaits

Post by Firstoutfisher »

So, I picked up an OSP louder60 popper a couple weeks ago. Finally had a chance to go out and try it out. Man I am in love with this thing, the finish on it is amazing, it just feels quality. By far the easiest to work popper I've had. Went and looked at their colors and they are awesome now I want more. They also make it in a 50mm that I want to try for trout. :-k :laugh1:

Anyway, I was looking at their other hardbaits and now I want to try and sample a bunch of them. Any suggestions for which OSP baits are worth trying? Also, I noticed they are incredibly hard to find in stock anywhere. Including asia fishing portal and other japanese sites. What are good places to find OSP baits for sale?

They are my favorite lure company by a wide margin. The Blitz Max series is true greatness. The Bent Minnow is also wonderful. The Power Dunk 57SP is a real treasure on clear water smallmouth lakes. The Asura II series is nice, I love the PL07 color and it is so hard to find.

The asura II definitely on my radar as a small jerkbait. Don't even see the pl07 color on their website. What exactly is the power dunk? I know the blitz max is a squarebill and the bent minnow is some weird topwater/jerkbait hybrid.

I pretty much stick with OSP and Jackall these days, soft and hard. The Louder 70 is my go to popper. The Dai Buzzin is another awesome OSP top water bait.

OSP Rudra and Varuna. They don't outfish my Duos but time and place for everything. They cast well and darr side to side nicely.

I really want to try the asura and varuna jerkbaits. Just picked up an OSP high pitcher max and man does this thing feel solid and the color is out of this world. Every bait I've got from OSP so far has been super nice. Wish the availability on them wasn't so bad.

Which size do you recommend? Also what gear do you throw it on? I am thinking probably my ronin if spinning and otomat if baitcaster

I primarily throw the 100 size, fishing for smallmouth. Medium light plus / medium power casting rod. Whatever you prefer to throw jerkbaits on should work fine.

Are you fishing it like a jerkbait or crankbait? I have one but have never thrown it. I believe it’s one of those hybrid jerkbait/crankbaits.

hookup tackle posted a video today where they talk about the highcut and the way they describe working it seems sort of like the way you would drag a jig or soft plastic but instead of on the bottom it is suspended
