Sustain 3000 XG FI

Post by John2204 » Sat Aug 03, 2019 11:05 am

So I took my Sustain apart to clean and lube it up, then got it back together with no parts left over, however the anti-reverse does not work. What did I miss? There was one large bushing on the spool shaft that I remember could of gone in either way, but I thought I would ask the experts before I opened it back up again.

You have to line up the bearing correctly. There is a post that activates the "on" switch for lack of a better term. You can see the lever on the bottom of the bearing. There is a small post on the frame that lines up into the lever. If you do not get it together right you will have no anti reverse as you have experienced.

Also make sure you use the rotor ring (small round silver ring on the bottom of the rotor) to align the water resistant seal on top of the anti reverse. Hopefully you didn't touch the top plate bare handed or use any cleaner on that as it will remove the water resistant coating.
