New Tatula Elite Reel

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Would these new reels be considered "better" than the tatula sv or just different?
Better imo. Aluminum gear-side plate, lighter spool with more line capacity than the SV. It is also smaller and more comfortable to palm.
How about as far as ease of casting for a beginner.

Trying to get an idea of how these compare size wise to current daiwa reels. I have 2 steez as, are these roughly the same size?

The Tatula SV TW is about as easy as you will find for a beginner with a bait cast reel. I haven't found the new Tatula Elite to be terribly difficult to control however.

They are small, compact, the size of the Tatula 100... here are a few comparison shots with the new Coastal.

Thanks. My son really wants to start using a baitcast setup instead if his spinning (just because that's what I use). I'll probably pick up a tatula sv for him at some point.

These reels have the exact same form factor as the Steez SV TW and Steez A models. They feel identical in hand, except the steez is 1.5 oz lighter. That dial doesn't bother me, though.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

You're welcome. I highly recommend the Tatula SV TW for beginners. It is one of the most user friendly reels on the market and is a lot of fun to use for skipping baits.

How does the finish feel in hand on the new elites? Hopefully the paint job is a bit smoother/nicer to the touch

How long before this trickles up into a Zillion with a Zaion sideplate and drag star, free floating spool, nitride line guide, and a 9.1 ratio?
Still waters run deep.

Can anyone confirm the gear material?

Bronzefly,

Can you confirm that the spools from the Elites and new Coastal SV interchange with each other and the new Tatula 100 on the same platform? Does Tackle Trap plan to sell the spools as upgrade parts?

Thanks in advance.

I've been passing it up for a while now but for $150 new it seems like a good choice. I mean I've been buying spools for almost that much lol.

Now that I've seen a few angles of that Coastal I'm sold on it...

Wonder if it'll see Aussie shores?

Yes on all counts... ETA on the spools has yet to be determined, but they will be up on the site as soon as we get them.

I'm sure we could arrange to have one land on your shores  Shoot me a PM if you're interested and we'll see what we can do.
