Just got mine in today and I have to say it’s very nice. Color is great and the reel is super smooth. I made a few casts and have to say it’s very errorless and bombs a mile with great control but doesn’t lose that free flowing feeling.

Anybody spooled one up with 50lb braid and cast a frog with it? Does it have enough capacity? I would really like to know, as Mr Real Pudd dangled on in front of me, and I bit. Thanks for the encouragement RPL.

Got the reel in the mail yesterday. Holds plenty of line to fish a frog. And I have to say this, it's a Damn rocket launcher with a frog.

Hi guys, new here. I was looking to get this reel and was wondering if any of you have had more time to fish this thing and what your thoughts were.

I'd also like to switch the handle out for a 90mm handle, but am having hard time finding a place to get them.

Thanks in advance!

Go to eBay or aliexpress and get the spacers needed to use any of the handles made for daiwa or abu reels.. Gives you a ton of more options for handles or knobs also...
I've just started using mine and comparing it to the k dc and 13 metanium I'd say it casts everything better than 13 metanium but it can't keep up with the k and dc on heavier baits.. Beats them with light baits though like 1/4oz and smaller but with 1/2oz baits or heavier the k and dc seem to easily beat it in distance..

I'm using a 96mm Shimano factory handle on mine. They sell them from the Metanium and Curado K (on the XG models).

As for the reel itself, mine has performed flawlessly since I got it (I got mine immediately after release). Definitely a step up from the standard Curado K. I really love the MGL spool.

I ordered one from digitaka.com over 2 weeks ago. Tracking says it's still sitting at the airport in Osaka. ](*,)

Does anyone know if any of the parts from a Curado K and Scorpion MGL are interchangeable? My Scorpion needs a roller clutch bearing and it would be nice just to get a Curado K part.

I would assume the bearings are the same size.
