I have both the 852s too. Fits my needs for light ned rigs and 1/16-1/8 drop shot. 1/4 and up i use the nrx872s for drop shotting. NRX852S and CQ842S i use mostly for 1/4 and up.

Awesome! What I’m looking for is to add a universal spinning set up, I have the glx 822 dsr which I haven’t fished yet for obviously drop shottint. Looking to try an nrx 852s as the universal set up, considered the 872s as well. But that expride 7’ light + just felt so nice I want to figure out what I might use it for and if it’s worth adding to the collection.cndbasshunter wrote:I have both the 852s too. Wonder what you'd call mine? About 45 year old 6' MLF 1/8-3/8 oz. Lightning and Penn 430SS. I did pick up a used Major Craft Benkei 6’7” LF 1/16-1/4 4-8 lb. for finesse. BG1500 on it. Your rods are anywhere from 2 to 6 times more expensive than mine. I can't even compute how much more expensive your reels are.OhioChamp183 wrote:I'm a cheapass compared to ya'll!
My finesse setups are a pair of St Croix Avid X 6'9"MLXF rods, with a pair of Stradic CI4+ 3000 reels.

I use a NRX822DSR with a Stella FE1000. Mostly drop shot finesse, but I have thrown some micro jigs and small jerk baits with success.

Picked up an Expride 7' Light+ and its been awesome. Handles most open hooked finesse techniques well.

A Loomis GLX 820DSR with a Daiwa Luvias and I just purchased a Megabass Addermine with a Daiwa Exist.

I had that GLX but the reel seat came loose. I'm sending it in the warranty replacement and I'll be getting an 852S in return. Same specs, just a few inches longer.PropaneGuy wrote:A Loomis GLX 820DSR with a Daiwa Luvias and I just purchased a Megabass Addermine with a Daiwa Exist.
