My first Avid blank I fashioned together...

Post by Mizmo » Fri Apr 21, 2006 4:35 pm

Here are a few picks of my first Avid blank that I fashioned together... I still have final sanding on the cork, but I think it turned out ok. The other is a spinning rod I'm building for the father-in-law for father's day, which will be from the old lady and her sister. Anyway, thought this rod would go good with the Viento. Anyway, I was kind of proud of this one and thought I'd post a few picks of it...

Hey thanks fellows, just starting to get into this rod building stuff. Well I threw on the old Scorpion 1000 to day and was tossing a shaky worm (reaction innovations screwed up jig head and a Gander Mt. black series worms or something like that) and think that this med. fast action rod is suited to the Scorpion 1000, like a match made in heaven :D

Now I'm sure that the Viento would work as well for this application, but I've yet to toss anything with it yet, it still has that new smell to it :D and I’m afraid to drop in on some rocks while stomping along old man Mississippi. I suppose I should get it out there and goof around with that "twitching thingy," eh. But that beat up Scorpion 1000 is still a good reel... just have a hard time not using it.
