My first Avid blank I fashioned together...
Here are a few picks of my first Avid blank that I fashioned together... I still have final sanding on the cork, but I think it turned out ok. The other is a spinning rod I'm building for the father-in-law for father's day, which will be from the old lady and her sister. Anyway, thought this rod would go good with the Viento. Anyway, I was kind of proud of this one and thought I'd post a few picks of it...

Hey thanks fellows, just starting to get into this rod building stuff. Well I threw on the old Scorpion 1000 to day and was tossing a shaky worm (reaction innovations screwed up jig head and a Gander Mt. black series worms or something like that) and think that this med. fast action rod is suited to the Scorpion 1000, like a match made in heaven
Now I'm sure that the Viento would work as well for this application, but I've yet to toss anything with it yet, it still has that new smell to it and I’m afraid to drop in on some rocks while stomping along old man Mississippi. I suppose I should get it out there and goof around with that "twitching thingy," eh. But that beat up Scorpion 1000 is still a good reel... just have a hard time not using it.
