Re: Swim Jig Trailers...what are you using?
I throw a couple different types, for a swim bait style i like the 3.5" trigger X slop hopper because it is compact, don't need to trim it, has the right colors for all my swim jigs (black, gill pattern and shad) and the best part is it doesn't have a deep slit in it like most swim baits do so you can actually thread it into the meat.
I like zoom speed craw as well and in real clean water i like a 5" kailyns grub.

I just acquired some have some RI Skinny Dippers. They seem a little large and heavy.igl00jx wrote:Paca craws and RI skinny dippers
Do you cut them off any?

I trim mine RIGHT behind the "eye" of the bait. I'm guessing it's about 3/8".BlaineFred wrote:I just acquired some have some RI Skinny Dippers. They seem a little large and heavy.igl00jx wrote:Paca craws and RI skinny dippers

why do you use such a bulky trailer?

Zoom fat albert grub as a trailer
Re: Swim Jig Trailers...what are you using?
I use them because they work. The size helps me feel exactly what the bait is doing at all times.BlaineFred wrote:why do you use such a bulky trailer?

I use the Skinny Dipper on 5/16, 3/8 and 1/2 oz. swim jigs. However, I don't trim them on the 1/2 oz. swim jigs.

My favorite by far is a zoom ultra vibe speed craw.

I was going to ask this question, glad somebody else did.
Re: Swim Jig Trailers...what are you using?
single tail grub
Re: Swim Jig Trailers...what are you using?
Majority of the time I have some sort of paddle tail swimbait around a 3.5 inch size. The keitech swing impact fat 3.8 is my go to. I also use a paca craw if I want a craw style or a Yamamoto twin tail grub.
Re: Swim Jig Trailers...what are you using?
Zoom swim chunks
Re: Swim Jig Trailers...what are you using?
Strike King Rage Menace Grub.
The way the twin tails kick, I can't help but play the Jaws theme in my head every time I retrieve it.
