Spool shaft pin trouble
Any idea how to remove a spool shaft pin (if that's what its called) on a Daiwa?
The reel is a Daiwa Steez 17, I tried to push the pin out with a thin punch and its not budging.

Re: Spool shaft pin trouble
It wont unless you've removed the spool support lock down nut thats wound down on the upper shaft deep into the spool support itself - follow those threads down...
You need a special tool to do so or some clever know how.
Have a look at your schematics there also, its also on the 2016 Tate.

Great, any idea on how I can buy a tool or what tool would work?
One of the reasons I usually avoid purchasing Daiwa is because they make it such a pain to take a part compared to Shimano.
Thanks for any info....

Re: Spool shaft pin trouble
I got the tool yesterday and took the reel down, once I got that nut removed the reel was one of the easiest to dissemble.
The tool I got worked amazing, but it kinda sucks that it cost $25 just to remove a nut.

Yes , they make me think that are trying to push reel owners to reel service providers.BRONZEBACK32 wrote:I got the tool yesterday and took the reel down, once I got that nut removed the reel was one of the easiest to dissemble.
