What are You PUNCHING with?

Post by goldrod »

Anything 3/4 oz and up, I’d like to know what your punching setup is?

Rainshadow XMB944.5-TC, or XMB874.5-TC. New Numbers IMMC73H, or IMMC76H.

Ultimately I always go back to this zombie rod. I really love this rod for braided line and i use 80# camo power pro.
With the abu gen 2 STX reel it’s comfortable and light.

How heavy is the vegetation you are punching through? Just millfoil or the thick nasty stuff that mats up?
Thanks for the epiphany captain obvious

I punch with the X7 Destruction. I live in Northern Michigan so, Im not fighting giants and, the vegetation isnt matted like other parts of the country. The taper is nice and versatile to use for other techniques as well.

They look just the same but we offer them in right and left hand with 9:1 gears installed and the stock gears included. We offer the RH version in a mag cranker/swim bait 5.5:1 ratio too. Just like any reels from our shop, we can super tune, change gears, bearings, handles, color parts from a broad range of parts from Hedgehog Studio, ZPI, Daiwa, Shimano, etc. before they even go out.

Here is a picture of mine that I had paired up with a US Destroyer Valdiva for some frog fun this fall... this reel looks great on the US Destroyer models in my opinion.
