Daiwa T3 value
Daiwa T3 value
Looking for opinions on the value of Daiwa t3’s and ballistics. All are lefty’s and lets just say 6/10 condition for reference. I haven’t kept up in a while on values.

Re: Daiwa T3 value
There was a time you could get a T3 for less than $150 new in box. I know, cause I did, then sold it because even after trying it twice, I still didnt care for it over other reels that I was gonna use that one for.

Can't help you fix a price, but I can say something nicer about the reel than the last guy.
I have two. I like how a T3 feels and especially enjoy how easy it is to start a buzzbait purring back on touchdown by closing the hood of the T3 and lifting.

I haven't seen a ballistic for sale in quite some time. I can't imagine getting more than 80$. The 1016 sadly is hard to get 120$. I still have I use for buzzbaits and whopper ploppers. I enjoy using it for these techniques.
Re: Daiwa T3 value
I agree they’re great reels. They pitch very well for its line capacity and casts great. I have several but am thinking about selling all or a few. I had no idea what they’d be worth now thoughBronzeye wrote:Can't help you fix a price, but I can say something nicer about the reel than the last guy.

Unfortunately not much bud. This was a love or hate reel. I love them myself.
T3 1016 mint, 110 to 130 is what you will likely end up getting.
T3 Ballistic mint, maybe 80 bucks if you're lucky.
Fair condition will obviously fetch less.

I just recently tried to sell a brand new 1016 to someone who was looking for one for $145. He wouldn't buy it.

Re: Daiwa T3 value
I bought a near mint 1016 from a forum member for 110 bucks recently. For someone who enjoys this platform as much as I do - smokin deal. You absolutely will not find this kind of performance in anything else for a Benjamin imo.

In 6/10 condition, you might get $60 for the ballistic and $90 for the 1016. It's a shame because I really like my T3mx, but it's definitely a buyer's market on this platform.

90 bucks is funny because the spool is worth 60 by itselfmasterbass wrote:In 6/10 condition, you might get $60 for the ballistic and $90 for the 1016. It's a shame because I really like my T3mx, but it's definitely a buyer's market on this platform.

Re: Daiwa T3 value
For people who dont like the platform it's the only useful part of the reel. The handle, knobs, cast cap, and star are very generic and the body is very proprietary. It's barely worth parting down.ccass wrote:90 bucks is funny because the spool is worth 60 by itselfmasterbass wrote:In 6/10 condition, you might get $60 for the ballistic and $90 for the 1016. In 6/10 condition I agree, $60 for ballistic and maybe $90 for the 1016.
I like TD-Z's

I bought my last 1016 spool for $38 shipped and the one before that was $45 shipped.ccass wrote:90 bucks is funny because the spool is worth 60 by itselfmasterbass wrote:In 6/10 condition, you might get $60 for the ballistic and $90 for the 1016. They aren’t worth that much anymore.
Re: Daiwa T3 value
Wasn't TW selling the T3 Ballistic extremely cheap at one point??? Like under $100. I know the Zillion TWS went for like $130 at one point and they aren't easy to find cheap as I would like, wanted a 5.5 gear for chatterbaits...
Doesn't hurt to list it for what you want either, I sold 2 reels locally to fisherman just getting into fishing and got my money back almost. Sold an original Lew's BB1 Pro for $125 and paid $140, sold a Revo Winch Gen 3 for $120 and paid $150.
As interesting as the T3 looks maybe someone just getting into nicer equipment would be happy to have a crazy looking reel.

No one wants that plastic crap. The MX, FX and Mago are great, tho. I just can't stand how every palming side plate isn't holding very tightless, and there's always wobble. One thing for sure, when daiwa released those, they were more overpriced than your average Revo from Abu.
