yea, the hyuga needs to be under proper lighting to be really purple. On a sunny day it would be much more purple than what's shown in the pictures

How well does the purple on the Hyuga match the Daiwa SLP purple? Are they the same shade of purple?

I have a sv103 with both deep and royal purple on my Hyuga, if you would like I can try to get some pics tomorrow when the sun comes out.

The deeper purple on the bumpers matches the rod pretty closely and the Royal purple parts are a nice contrast I think.

Do you think the 72H can legitimately handle a 3 oz swimbait, the ratings for this rod per Tackle Trap have this up to 4 oz.

I say "no". I throw a BBZ-1 Rat 50 at 2.5oz on mine and it feels overpowered. It is a chunky lure to throw, a more compact paddle tail might fair better. A S-Waver 168s at 1.5oz feels perfect and I think up to 2oz would be fine as well.

That's a tough call as of course everyone fishes different but in my opinion with Megabass especially, I feel their rods have no problem chucking 2-ounce plus baits for the ones that are rated at 3/8(some go as low as 1/4oz) ounce to 2 oz now if you have something that's rated say up to 3 oz I would definitely say you're in the money as Hyuga offers 3 big bait slingers. My experience was the TS Poker for that weight range 3/8oz-3oz. Me personally I fish beyond the weight range for quite a few Megabass rods after continuously being impressed as I feel the construction, actions make great magnum bait rods. The way they fish throughout all series that I have had the pleasure to fish in my hands can definitely handle heavy-duty baits(all subjective but talking regards to 3/8oz-2oz+ range). I like to load my big bait rods up quite a bit more than probably most and I can tell you with my experience I have the utmost confidence you should have no problems with the big bait Hyuga choices, now keep in mind I have not finished any of the bigger bait models yet for the hyuga series but in my humble opinion they would fish similarly with rods in the same class lure weight class throughout MB rod series I'll say specifically with the rods i fished the many Mephisto variants, older Destruction, as well as the longer X7/ASL 7'11", X4 Black python rods could handle 2.5oz baits just dandy but of course that is the way I fish. I think most have stated a lot of people feel they are a bit underpowered but in my hands I feel they are super underrated for slinging big baits. Keep in mind a lot of this is subjective of course(lure types, stucture, cover, open water, line, reel choices even handle length) make a huge difference on what you can do with these very versatile megabass rods. most people may want a beefier Rod but in my opinion megabass makes their rods super strong and if you can gain that the confidence to do so I highly suggest going for it. In fact the hyuga I want specifically but haven't gotten around to it yet is the eight foot telescoping rod I see myself throwing a lot of my 2 ounce and 2 ounce plus treble baits specifically Mag TW, oversized square bills and the Big M for now my slant Bridge super destruction gets lion share of the magnum lure deployment. Now that is a beefier rod for that lure range IMHO

I've cast up to 2 oz baits with the rod and it felt like I wasn't near it's upper limit but it was definitely loading up. I would say 3 oz is doable. If you want a dedicated big bait stick look elsewhere but if you want a super versatile semi-mag heavy that can fish baits you would throw on a heavy powered rod and can still do some big bait work too then it is a great stick. I would look at a punching/swim bait stick if you regularly want to cast over 2.5 oz..
