It refers to the reel seat hood/locking nut. They are similar to, if not the same as the ‘17 US Destroyers.. In addition, the lineup is basically the '16 JDM Destroyers with SiC guides vs Alconites.
Re: Megabass Carbon Head Destroyer
Why is having a carbon head such a big deal that they name the line after it????

Re: Megabass Carbon Head Destroyer
Here are examples of each of the current Destroyer models, JDM and USA. The most significant difference to me is the TiSiC guides on the Carbon Head models.
Top to bottom:
F3-610X Hein 2016 Destroyer
F6-69X Super Destroyer Carbon Head
F5-76X Javelin 2017 Destroyer USA

Re: Megabass Carbon Head Destroyer
thanks, Gary. i thought the older version was faster for some reason.
do you think the Faust would be a good choice for 1-1.5oz swimbaits and frogs or is it better suited for jig/worm?

What is the grip material on the Hein and Super Destroyer? Is it comfortable?
Also, are the blanks different in the '16 JDM Deatroyer, '17 US Destroyer, and Carbon Head rods?
TIA
Re: Megabass Carbon Head Destroyer
I use '16 Faust for frogs and punching, its a sweet rig. It has regular taper. I was kinda worried about that initially for frogging but it has more than enough tip to hit them quick and power to get them out of the junk. I haven't tried heavier swimbaits with it. I just bought 168 s waver 1 5/8oz I don't think it will be any kind of issue.bigfruits wrote:thanks, Gary. i thought the older version was faster for some reason.

Re: Megabass Carbon Head Destroyer
I have found it to be very capable of both. It's a very powerful jig/worm rod however, so unless you need that kind of strength. It is really great with frogs in very thick cover as well.bigfruits wrote:thanks, Gary. i thought the older version was faster for some reason.

It's the "Direct Sensor Gripping" system. In my hands, it's very comfortable in both the matte and gloss finish. I was surprised myself, but I really like it.Tigerbass wrote: What is the grip material on the Hein and Super Destroyer? Is it comfortable?

I know there isn't a blank difference between Carbon Head and 16 JDM Destroyer. Megabass may have used a slightly different scrim, etc. in the US models, though I can't confirm or deny that.
The TiSiC guides are a very nice touch on the US Destroyer models. I think the Japan anglers got jealous and wanted their own TiSiC model
