SS SV plus Zpi Nrc001-m
Anybody tried this combination yet? I'm thinking they should be about perfect together. Please let me know if you have this reel and spool. Thx

I have the spool, but not the reel. It makes sense that it would work well due to the speed of the spool and more aggressive braking of the reel. That spool was way too fast for my og steez. It was fantastic in my T3MX. Did you try it in a TDZ yet?

I have. It was a little faster in my TDZ than in my FX68. About the same as my Steez SV103. I think it should be money in an SS or SV103. I don't like my spools fast. On a speed scale of 1 to 10, I like them around a 7. I'm hoping this is what I'll get with an SS SV.masterbass wrote:I have the spool, but not the reel. Sounds like an interesting combination to me. I don't see why that spool and reel wouldn't be a good match for what you are looking for.

It works very well in a TDZ, you just have to set the breaks higher than you would with a slower spool like an SV spool. Although the spool is faster it isn't "wild" like fast spools often are. Even though it is fast it doesn't overun and still only requires minimal thumbing. It is difficult to skip with but for casting it is very unique in that it is fast without being wild or hard to tame.

SS/SV fan here, I FINALLY got another Zillion SV TW G1 spool ordered, waiting for it to arrive then its going in my SS/SV-hs full of 12lb fluoro. Will be going on a 7'M cranking rod so I will get to see how well it improves casting. Not sure about the ZPI spools though, they are linear magnetic braking, correct?

Thanks for the comments. I'm going to skip the SS SV. Picking up another mint T3 for a price I couldn't pass up. I know this spool is fantastic in that platform, and though there is a lot of T3 dislike, it will always be one of my favorite platforms.

At the price the SS SV is sold on TW, i think its a perfect reel no matter what at this point

8.1 Conversion kit from Tackle Trap has me thinking of a second... Probably just get another ZillionSVTW or Chronarch MGL at this point though.Hogsticker2 wrote:Too bad they only have cranking models leftSSS wrote:At the price the SS SV is sold on TW, i think its a perfect reel no matter what at this point

So if the SS/SV is $155, send yourself a gift card for 10% off, so $15.5 dollars more off, that leaves $139.5. Then add a $70 kit from Tackle Trap, so at minimum you are looking at $209.5.Hogsticker2 wrote:That was my original planDirtyD64 wrote:8.1 Conversion kit from Tackle Trap has me thinking of a second... On the other hand, if I wait for the next 15% off sale, not sure when it is, that would make the Zillion SV TW $255 or the Chronarch MGL $238. So if I buy a gift card now for an extra 10% off, it would make the Zillion SV TW $229.5 or Chronarch MGL $214.2. So for an extra $5 to $20, I will just wait and get the newer reel.

No doubt it's a smoking deal. I'm getting a near new T3 1016 for 110 shipped. Don't have to upgrade gears, plus I'm a T3aholic
