Chap stick on your line for Knots.

Does any use chap stick on floro or any other line for synching down your knot?

I've found that the best thing to help with keeping fluoro from burning itself is fewer wraps on the knot. I used to do 7 or so; now I do 4 and I haven't had a knot be hard to cinch down since.

You don't need Chap Stick when you have saliva. Wetting knots when using fluoro is probably as important as the type of knot that you tie. I spit on my knot to get them as wet as possible before I cinch them down. This will really help your knot strength. I often get Blistex on my line when I put the line in my mouth. I push it down with my fingers after I tie my knot because it makes your line more visible. Some people use Chap Stick to make their line float for topwater, but I wouldn't do it for other applications.

I do in saltwater , because the line is much thicker. No need for it bass fishing imo. You really don't want to cinch down your knots like a gorilla anyways.

I have used it and it definitely helps lubricate better than wetting the line with saliva.

I've yet to find a knot lubricant that outperforms the mighty astroglide.
Cheaper ones work like a charm too.

For my alberto knots I did..But I only go 7 wraps up and down.

I begged Aquaholik to test it on his machine...And He blew my mind.

He uses 8 or 9 turns up and down. And said he couldn't get it to synch with chapstick........

And sure as crap.....I could spit on it and get it tight..but adding chap stick....nope....

But I like it on my albertos with 7 wraps...and it keeps the braid tags in place almost like glue...just not quite as long.

I think reel magic has a silicone base so started using it to cinch down all or most of my braid knots and it really works well especially when cinching shark knots or Snelling. So I'm sure it would work great tying a leader with braid. Otherwise spit for mono or flouro works fine.
