Will there be a 70 version of the new Curado K?

Wish there was a 70 Curado MGL. Same frame as the 70, extra bearing on the main gear shaft, and one hell of a lighter spool. I would gladly pay $250 for that reel.

That would be great! Because in my opinion the Curado/Scorpion 71 is quite a nice reel, but the performance with baits lighter than 3/8oz is only fair and not really good.

Exactly, my Chronarch MGL casts light lures great. I don't own a Curado 70, but a friend said he figured my MGL would out do his 70 after trying mine with a 1/16 shaky head and 4.5" Roboworm fat. I was actually really impressed with the Chronarch MGL so far and it is my first ever Shimano casting reel (all Daiwa). I would maybe try the Curado 70 anyways because I have a decent thumb, but its spool weighs almost as much as the K's. I know it is a shallow spool, but they could have shaved a bit more. I also with Daiwa would remake the 105 with a lighter G1 spool to replace the SV105, call it a new Alphas or an updated Pixy SV.

The Engetsu PG is a Scorpion 70 with brass micro mod gears. There's that.

Ok so there is hope. Now they just need to add (if possible by design) a extra bearing to the main shaft and more importantly a lighter spool. If they are willing to make a Casitas MGL for the JDM market, they could at least try an updated 70 MGL. A dream reel for me would be that (70 Curado with Micro gears and an MGL spool, they could even call it a Chronarch 70 and give it a composite frame and huge price tag and I would be fine with it) or a 50 size Zillion SV (updated PIXY SV would be a good name) with an 8 speed on either.

I have ordered a Scorpion 71 with an Avail spool (7040RI: http://www.avail.jp/products/ms_16scp7020ri.html) and being curious if the performance will be comparable to the Aldebaran 51.

What brake setup do the 70 Avail spools run??? I considered replacing (moving to a Medium) my SV105 with a 70 then upgrading the spool and running 10lb braid on a ML rod, just not much information on the install and brake options...

You can swap the SVS-Infinity of the stock spool or use the Avail magnetic brakesystem. I decided for swapping the SVS-Infinity, because I don't like linear magnetic brakesystems. The Scorpion BFS would be another good alternativ on a ML-rod and much more favorable.
