You would have to be careful not to get too close to any trees or anything too low overhead. Like forget pulling back into the garage.
I prefer to travel with my rods in a rod rack in a campershell or in rod locker. For those of us that fish sometimes during the winter, its nice to keep the road grime and salt off of the fishing gear. Out there in California if you drove down a gravel/sandy road, you would have fishing gear covered in sand and grit.
