Re: Best finesse popper?
The Yo-Zuri 3DS is a sweet little popper. They cast well and make a lot of commotion for their size. Excellent hooks, too. And they aren't stupid expensive. I like the prism clown color for stained water.
This is the way.

I use several different ones but the 3 best are the 1/4oz Yellow Magic, Splash-it and old Xcalibur Zell Pop. Those all make the same spitting type sound.

I seem to recall that the Splash-It began when Iovino got blems of Ricos and refinished them. Might be an urban myth, but it's certainly a widely repeated one.smalljaw wrote:I use several different ones but the 3 best are the 1/4oz Yellow Magic, Splash-it and old Xcalibur Zell Pop. Megabass Pop x. I have caught far more with with one than any other popper. Sexy French Pearl is my favorite color.

Try the Viva Bug I Popper if you can find one. Great spitting action!

Re: Best finesse popper?
Yamamoto made a really small popper a while back, maybe a Sugoi mini Splash? It is a 1/8oz bait and it is killer. I saw a couple going for 200.00 on ebay a while back and was shocked, so I looked through my baits and noticed I had a few. Anyway, I bought a bunch of bodies on ebay that are the exact same style for really cheap and they seem to be the same bait. I might be able to post a photo later on.

The popper on the bottom left is a Sugoi Mini. All the other are Mega Bass PopX ko's in 2" 1/8oz size that I painted myself and added Decoy and Cultiva hardware to.

Daiwa's T.D.Popper ZERO has been my favorite for years. Good thing I got a bunch way back when it was produced, since you can't find them anymore. Translucent smelt does the job!

I haven't been using my poppers much since discovering Grand Sigletts. Very addictive little bait.

Sugio mini splash, one of the best. If I only knew then...casts very well for it's size.
On the cheap side, Rebel hopper popper and the Teeny Pop-R . These have always produce.
Owner Gobo Popper. smaller cup, sits lower on water. Even panfish hits this lure.
The smallest Hula popper...big mouth cup, big pop.
