Any Shimano Calais 100a users???

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

The 100A is the US equivalent to the JDM Antares AR.

The Antares ar has a shallow finesse spool.
And according to hedgehog, spools aren't interchangeable between Calais/AR. hedgehog does have a deeper spool for the AR (not sure if it's deeper than stock Calais though).
Might be some other differences but will be minute.

I'm pretty sure my Antares AR's weren't shallow spools. I never tried exchanging them between the two but I never liked the limited capacity of shallow spools so I wouldn't have used them if they were.

You're absolutely right, I stand corrected. I was thinking of the standard Antares(jdm Calais 200).

Is that spoil the deeper or shallower version?
How do you like it, compared to the original?

It's the deeper version, I wanted the line capacity. I like it, I can cast 1/8 oz cranks no problem. I mostly use it for 1/4 oz and above but with the right rod it would be a killer bfs real except for the weight.
