Nrx 823syr

Looking for some reviews on this one- I have two 852nrx. (Spinning)
Looking for a little more deep water power for 1/4 s heads, maybe some silver buddy work, and even some larger jerk baits.

Would anyone be able to confirm that going from an 822syr to and 823syr, would be very similar going from an 842c MBR to an 843c MBR? The specs seem quite similar.

Do you have the 822SYR ? If you haven't tried that, I would give it a try first as when I had it, it fished a 1/4oz Shakyhead lovely. For me, the extra power conflicts with the finesse required to fish a Shakyhead well.

The 822 SYR for me was a very versatile rod so if you are looking at additional power for even more versatility then I understand and would say that you will be fine taking the leap of faith and getting the 823 SYR blind.

I have the 852s and love it. However I fish some deep grass and wanted some extra power. I bought the 823 hoping that I would gain that extra power. To me it felt the same as the 852 only 3" shorter. I ended up getting rid of it and using my 852 again.fyi... I have the 842c and 843c and there is a noticeable difference in those two rods.

Thanks for the replies, that's what I wanted to hear. I guess I'll stick to the 852 and maybe pick up another casting rod I've been eyeballing.
