Great color and i love the classic pearl white knobs on the handle.
Avail at on time use to make those white knobs with bearings.
Love the old Abu reels!

Now you need a custom rod to match!!! Live those knobs!

Super hot reel! I have recently discovered Don and am eager to acquire one. Would make a pretty amazing deep crank reel matched up with a glass Japanese rod.

Sweet...Thanks! Glad I found a way to at least get everyone to see the pics without having to bother another forum member to post them. I appreciate those that wanted to help out but didn't want to inconvenience you at all. Hope you enjoy the reel!

Big-bass that reel is gorgeous man!
Are you gonna fish it? I bet it would be a great deep cranking reel.
I'd be inclined to mount it on the new St Croix legend elite 7'11. That would be a bautiful rod & reel combo, and the colors would match perfectly.

I also picked up (and received today) an Iovino 2500C "Classic" reel. Don is a great guy! I will post pictures. Thank you and good fishing!

His reels, like any of the classic Abu reels, will not have the same feel of let's say a steez, but are built like a tank, feel very connected to the angler, and are a blast. If you want a reel more finesse oriented, get a 2500C or a 1500C (the smallest size they make). I posted pictures on the link before of a 2500C that was made for me. It is meant to be fished with 6-10lb test and is considered really one of the first finesse reels. I hope this helps! Thanks and good fishing!

Got my green 4600C back from Don yesterday. He replaced an interior part for me that I wanted done and was super quick with the turnaround. The reel looks great and I will have to post a few more pictures of it. In the time being, he also sent me spare brake blocks for the reel (without charge) which was a really cool gesture. Also, when he built me my 2500C (just under two weeks ago), I was pleased to see in the package with the reel a pack of reapers, a few jigs, and some of his slugger style baits. That was an awesome surprise and I look forward to using them. I know there is a big following for Don's reels overseas but do any of you own any? Or do any of you have any other classic Abu builds out there? Thanks and good fishing!

Great taste sir. I've emailed sir Don a few times over the years wanting him to offer the same expertise on Zebco Cardinals. I would be first in line.
Well done, Travis
