US Source for aftermarket parts?

Post by TahoeDust » Wed Feb 17, 2016 1:29 am

I am new to customizing/modifying reels and am looking for a place to order parts from. The parts I am looking for are all for Shimano reels; Metanium, Chronarch, Calcutta, Curado. Is there a stateside source for things like handles, drag stars, spools, etc...basically all the stuff that hedgehog studios sells. I do mind ordering from them, and I have for some bearings and a Studio Composite handle for my Metanium.

Check out the front page of TT. Looks like there is some decent USDM spool options, especially for lower priced reels.

google hawgtech. never used the product yet but they seem fair for the price point.

I don't really mind ordering from overseas, but I am inpatient. I ordered something from Hawgtech a week ago and it has been sitting in customs for the last 4 days...sucks. In the same token I ordered my Metanium on ebay from Japan and it was here in two days.

Order off Ebay through Hedgehog. For whatever reason the shipping is faster than ordering direct.

Hawgtech is in Florida, if your order is in Customs, something is really screwed up. Brian.

You dont have a location in your profile. Where are you that HawgTech is having to go through customs?

I'm sorry, I meant Hedgehog...not hawgtech. In my defence, I have ordered from both.
