What do you guys use for BFS jig trailers?

Jig it, spin it, buzz it, if it's got a wire or a lead head, it can and will be discussed in here.

What do you guys use for BFS jig trailers?

Post by IAY » Sat Jun 13, 2015 6:27 am

Hey guys,

I have been throwing a lot of 3.5g to 1.8g jigs this year, and the only trailers I have been using are the zoom 2' shad tails. I was wondering if there are some craw or bug type trailers in the similar size that I don't have to order through JDM sites.

Thanks,

I make my own jigs and I make these small clear water finesse jigs in 1/16oz, 3/32oz and 1/8oz and trailers are tough. I was using some JDM soft plastics called "Bite Guts" and they were good but the price was outrageous but I found a custom plastics guy that makes small trailers. Another option is to find Prowler Lures and get the small chunk, these have been killer for me during post frontal conditions as well as in cold water, Zoom use to make the skinny chunk, I would simply trim them a bit and they worked well but then they quit.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys. I also found some BPS brand panfish stuffs that I will definitely be trying. I guess it is impossible to find good detailed finesse jig trailers in US, since its populace don't use them :/

I should buy some mono guard jig heads for these! I would like to source them in store, but that is a farce :/ .

I got some custom pours from serbert outdoors. He has some craws that are micro size and fit the keitech mono spin jig just right. There not that expensive either.
