Frog Fishing
Re: Frog Fishing
I throw the koppers and spro popping frogs, I do trim skirts and I sometimes turn hooks up, really depends on the frog and how it fishes out of the package.
Re: Frog Fishing
It's not the best in all situations but the Death Dealer Bart definitely has a great hook up ratio. A very unique design too.

Re: Frog Fishing
I utilize the spro popping frogs and never miss. I do turn the connects a bit, a minor change and trim the legs to the length of the body. Around 30 seconds of mod to have the best frog on the planet!
Re: Frog Fishing
patience is the key no matter what frog you end up using.....just learn to wait until you feel the fish on your line when you see it blow up on the frog before you set the hook.....that extra second helps you set the hook once the fish has it in its mouth....

Re: Frog Fishing
I have no complaints with spro. I just wait to feel the fish then set the hook hard. The only modification I do is give the legs a little trim.
Re: Frog Fishing
although i have not tried many brands, i am happy with the padcrasher.
Re: Frog Fishing
I've had the best hook rates with the RI swamp donkey, and I also think
its a pretty great walking frog.

I go with strike king rage toads for my frog fishing
Re: Frog Fishing
Patience, patience, patience. If I miss a hook set, I leave the frog st for maybe 30 seconds to a minute. Just a little twitch and more often than not, the bass comes back for seconds.
Re: Frog Fishing
I have good luck with the spro 65. However sometimes I still lose some on the way in to the boat. I bend my hooks up but I think I am just to jumpy on the hookset and just get them skin hooked?
