I use 500 and 1000 size reels, depending on rod length.
And my line is Fireline, usually 4lb and sometimes 6lb.

Although I have several different brands of fluorocarbon and mono " in stock " on my line shelf . My most chosen and used one is a 4 pound test Bass Pro Shop Excel clear blue fluorescent . It reminds me of Stren . I bought a one pound spool when they has a 50% off sale . 11,400 yards .
I like to change line often and this allows me to change every trip if I want .
I know its breaking strength is greater than Would be allowed for a line test record , but it casts light lures pretty good and most importantly it allows small lures and jigs to have action needed to look natural on retrieve . gillchaser

I've been using Crystal Fireline almost exclusively for the last year and cannot say enough good things.

Nanofil 6lb. on a Tica SB500. The reel takes the whole spool of it almost perfectly.

Sunine Sniper 2-4 lb is great line... I also like 2 lb Maxima UG. It's pretty popular here out west.

I'm gonna change it up a bit this season on my UL rig. I'm staying with Sufix Performance braid for my main line, but dropping down to 6 lb test (.006") from the 10 lb (.008"). I'll be going with DAM Tectan 3.3 lb (.005") for the leader in favor of Sufix Elite 4 lb mono.
Been wanting to try the Tectan for some time now, and yes I'm aware that it breaks very close to it's rated strength. I think the overall thinner diameter will benefit me.

Nanofil 6# with 4# sunline flourocarbon leader. Use this setup on a few spinning gear setups and love the results. Going the make the switch on the others this spring.

Interesting thread. I am using 4lb XT and 2/6 Fireline, but that Fireline doesnt feel like 2lb test diameter. I have never gone below 4lb test for anything... yet.

We use same but use flourescent blue line and a 4 ft leader of florocarbon ..Blue line is clear under water but on top you can see it which helps seeing a bite..We stopped using green line when the florocarbon came out and went to this set up..

I use Nanofil in 1,2,3 and 4lb test with a mono leader of 8-15 feet... I have caught hundreds of fish on one fill up of Nanofil... I have used the same line for 2 seasons on one rig, 4lb test. Nanofil does not twist like mono, that is the secret to it's longevity. The mono (or FC) leader offsets the fraying issues and allows an easy change of line strength or of worn leader.
