I will use topwater or spinnerbait at the beginning
If there is no any hit, I will start to use soft plastics like senko and craw ;)

Gambler Big EZ. Swim it, crawl it or dead stick it. Gets chewed.

For our season up here the fish are rocking right out of the gate, warm temps and the feed is on. It's not until August when things start to get finicky at times and more so in September/October(slower presentations colour becomes more important etc...)

My go-to year round most productive bait is now the PowerTeam Lures 3.5" Texas Rig Jig. I texas rig this with a 5/0 Owner EWG+ on 50lb Braid and a pegged tungsten weight(1/4oz-3/4oz) works awesome.

For me Senkos (any color as long as it's primarily grren or gray) have been my go to lure! A Spro little john would come in a close second!

SENKO. I can't believe people are saying spinnerbait. Really? If I needed to feed my family with bass - and catching fish meant feeding my wife and 3 kids - I would ONLY trust the Senko.

Except where ONLY Senkos are thrown. Or in deep water + lots of chop on the water + discoloration + structure and cover to penetrate or...well you get it.

JIG is the best single "survival" bait IMO.

1/4 oz. northerm style swim-jig with a 5" curly tail grub. Start the season with dark (blue/black) and move to white/shad as the summer matures. Versatile and deadly.
