What the Finesse: A Different Character, the NRX Drop Shot Rod

Image

Introduction: We kick off our look at the NRX series with the finesse oriented drop shot rod, the 822DSR. This rod makes use of the company’s new blank technology and features a hybrid guide design. Does this high-end drop shot rod really deliver on all fronts when it comes to weight, sensitivity and durability?

Wow. What a review. My thoughts exactly when I first got my JWR854. Felt like MagBass taper (if not softer/slower), feels one power lighter, and surprising power.

Awesome review. I knew the rods were good, but obviously not being able to test and feel everything the market has to bear, it’s comforting knowing what I already feel to be true. No longer just my opinion but after you fish with an NRX it’s hard to go back to second best! =D> \:D/ =D> \:D/ =D> \:D/

If you want to fish the best you have to pay the price.

Nice review and setup Z, is that a 2004 vintage Cert?

My NRX852S is paired with a Cert 2000 and its one lean mean fishing machine, Bass dont stand a chance.

Every fight is an extreme thrill. The blank material just feels ALIVE.

In the part of the review where you compare the price of this rod to the prices of other rods in the same category you say that North Fork Composites has a blank comparable at $400. What blank is this you are speaking of? On their website the most expensive bass blank is the HM which is right around $250.
