Daiwa Steez
Which Steez would you choose for the following...
- Jigs - 3/8-3/4 oz plus trailers like the Sweet Beaver, Yamamoto 5" Dbl Tail Grub (mostly 3/8 oz and 1/2 oz jigs)
- Texas Rigs - 3/16-1/2 oz bullet weights plus soft plastics like the Sweet Beaver, Brush Hog, 6" Lizards, 7" worms (mostly 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz bullet weights)
- Senkos - 6" weightless
- Mostly underhand/sidearm casting, some pitching, and infrequent overhand casts
... the Steez 103SHA or 100SHA?
Note: line capacity is not an issue with either model for me

Re: Daiwa Steez
either will do but, personally, would pick the 103.
in my hands, it just seems to do the short game better...i use the 100 more for overhand distance.

I own both and would pick the 103 for those presentations.

I'd say...wait, I don't own one.
Anyone want to donate one to me? Then I can add to the poll?

I have had both and still own 6 or 7 of the 103HA's. The 100's just don't seem to handle the lighter baits as well as the 103's. Plus I much prefer the shorter handle of the 103's. Pitching is really where you'll see the differences though. Both are fine reels, but for me the 103 is perfect....

I wouldn't say any of those baits are light enough that the 103 would shine over the 100. I use a 100 for weightless 6" yum dingers and it works great. Since the baits aren't too light, I think it comes down to what length handle you like.

X2 ...as an owner of both reels I agree 100% with blackjack23's assessment of the situation...

Exactly why I voted for the 100. Longer handle that I personally prefer.blakjack23 wrote:I wouldn't say any of those baits are light enough that the 103 would shine over the 100. Re: Daiwa Steez
I don't think it would matter with those weights. I liked the shorter 103 handle, but the 100 capacity.
