hard bluegill swimbait?

Post by Spot King » Tue Aug 28, 2007 5:56 am

Hi all,

The lakes I fish have a lot of bluegill in them and I have been thinkin of trying some type of bluegill swimbait. These same lakes also have toothy critters. I've noticed that many of the larger swimbaits are three pieces, and I wondered if there is a three piece hard bluegill bait available?

Thanks in advance,

SK

Do a search here for Shell Cracker by Black Dog. It might be exactly what you're looking for.

Actual review is still in the works, but here are some initial shots and info on their baits:

note the Shellcracker is only a two section bait though

Also take a look at K´S Labo Kawami Gill, there´s a guy that has an e-bay store and has them in stock, it´s also a two section swimbait.

i bought some of those ks labo gills, they are pretty nice! My current rod is too light for em so I havnt really been able to test the swimming action yet.

that's a knock-off bait. Support small business or the quality of our baits will not be around much longer and all we will be left with is crap

WOW! Thanks to all that replied. I didn't expect to get so many replies right away.

I don't get what you guys mean by "knockoffs". I looked at all the baits mentioned and they look different to me. I mean both the shellcracker and the Reaction Strike bait look completely different. The only thing I could see that looks the same are the eyes. One is single jointed and the other is double jointed. They're even shaped different and one has a soft tail. How is that a knockoff?

Either way, I really appreciate the replies. That's exactly what I was looking for. That bait that TMike posted looks perfect. What's the size and how much are they? Are they plastic or what?

Thanks again everyone,

SK

xxlbass, Let me talk about the "few" changes aka differences that you stated in your last post.

1. Bull Bream is 2 joints Cracker is one
2. Bull bream is significantly thinner than the Cracker'
3. Bull bream has a spring to retain the tail cracker has lexan
4. Bull bream has a soft tail cracker has lexan
5. Bull Bream weighs alot less than the cracker
6. Bull bream comes in different colors.
7. Bull Bream is priced in the upper 20's Cracker is upper 50's
8. Bull bream action is significantly different than the Shell Cracker
9. Bull bream was designed by ME thats how I know these things.

I don't own an Shell Cracker but I know for a fact it's a GREAT bait. I am going to be buying one soon for myself as these baits are very different

Now the bull bream is made by the same company as the Shell Cracker. That is why you see some similarities in the facial carvings and similiar painting styles.

Here are the colors that they are coming out with.
