Megabass Tomahawk series.

Post by Tmeng » Thu Jun 28, 2007 6:19 am

Has any member on this site purchased the Megabass Tomahawk, GTC series cranking rods? Please share your thoughts on this rod. I'm curious to know about their performance, and how does it compare to the GT3 Shiryu.

Speaking with Masaki at Megabass USA, he believes the GTC fits more of an all-around rod for light cranks and small plastics.

Thanks,

I would agree with that assessment.

Hi,

I briefly owned the Kaede :(

T3Forum/viewtopic.php?t=17605&highlight=kaede

Very nice rod for light cranks and jerks and even soft plastics i.e light t-rigs and jigs.

They have a less parabolic action than the GT3 series and are actually made of Hi10X Graphite instead of fiberglass.
My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

Hi Lobinaking,

I'm very sorry to hear about the unfortunate outcome of your MB Kaede. Thanks for your feedback.

The decision is made the Shiryu will be cranking rod.

I'm taking a big gamble when it comes to purchasing any brand of JDM rods. It's one of thoses things that I have to try out, even if the odds aren't to my favor.

My first MB rod was the Shiryu and I love it. I think you will be very happy and surprised at the performance of the fiberglass .
