small Megabass boat?
how can i get this in North America?:
Re: small Megabass boat?
your only option is to buy it in japan and crate it over
I doubt any of the exporters will be willing to arrange to send this over to the US. First of all, only a limited number of retailers exist, and it takes months before you can actually buy it (waiting list). I'm actually thinking of buying the non-Megabass version of the boat.
It's called the "Focus Pointer" and version 2 that's coming out this year, 12~3ft boat made out of carbon fiber rated at 20hp, and so light that it can be hand carried (yes, ultimate car topper)
Can't wait to try it out in those hard to get your boat in secret bass ponds

Here's a link to the manufacturer

Re: small Megabass boat?
have a carpenter build it from a jon boat..
Re: small Megabass boat?
Nope, no carpenter, you can make it on your own with 3-4 mm aluminum sheet, L shaped aluminum strips and rivets, you´ll save yourself a ton of weight and aluminum won´t rot ever. That´s what I´m doing to mine, I spent $170 in aluminum, $100 in carpet and turned my 12 ft jonboat into a 12 ft deck. Since I have to flip it in order to cartop it I´m not going to add the bow mount TM.

Re: small Megabass boat? Not the same size but cool !!!!!
Hey Guys,
The megabass Jon boat / bass boat was cool. Check out the link to these rigs..........I like them. To bad it would cost nearly as much as my Ranger 619VS to import................. http://www.souther.org/395/index.htm

I have spoken with MB about becoming a dealer for these and as long as you have your license they will ship them over. They cost around $5K, find a dealer willing and you're in business.

Re: small Megabass boat?
That's a really nice boat. I turned my jon into a decked boat. If you're interested, PM or email me, I'll be glad to help. I think a few other guys on this board have nice conversions as well.
I had a 15 on my boat, 14-36, rated for a 20, and it went 22 with two guys in it, I figure MAYBE 25 with the 20, I'd love to toss that 12 footer with a 20 around!!

That boat would be perfect for the resevoir I fish(trolling motor only). Let me know if you find a way to get one.

Re: small Megabass boat?
Assuming I could get it in and out of my F150's bed by myself, I'd give my 'left nut' for one of those. No outboard needed....

The most obvious answer ... one way ticket to Japan, sail the MB boat to the Aleutians, have a Chinook helicopter carry it to the mainland, trailer it back to the lower 48.unaffiliated wrote:how can i get this in North America?:
Then you could write about your adventures.
Re: small Megabass boat?
Sorry if im repeating anything because I didnt read all the replys. I would never buy a Megabass boat though if I had the money unless it offered some insane real-world performance advantage. Boats like cars can be highly customized. You could make your own Jon Boat look like that for under a grand.
