Concept Z lubrication

Post by mark poulson » Wed Jan 02, 2019 2:56 pm

Matt,
Do I need to oil the Z bushings, and, if so, how often?
How often should I grease the gears?
Thanks in advance,
Mark
P.S. I hope you are having a nice holiday season.

The Z Bearings will break themselves in and after that they should require very little lubrication. I use INOX lubrication on mine occasionally, typically only after I clean my reel. I find that when you clean off the bearings you temporarily remove the "self lubricating" properties...so the lube helps it to perform.

Gears should be kept lubricated as they are Aluminum. If your fishing in saltwater, this is more important....but in freshwater i recommend cleaning your reel fully around twice a year.

Thanks. I'm due for a cleaning/lubing.
