Are the new omens that are fast action a bit slower than the old omens? I found that my 7'1 mh omen is as fast as many extra fast action rods, which might be good for some techniques but I'd rather have the action be slower to be more viable as an all around rod.

I've been pestering the hell out of 13 fishing for info on these. I'm pretty excited about these. I love the full cork grip. I pre-ordered two from Tackle Warehouse today. A 6'7"M and a 7'1" H.

My plants to make the 7'1" a frog rod with a Team Daiwa Zillion. Praying they balance out well.

I was told over the phone that these new blanks are slightly faster. That sealed the deal for me trying one. I hope that's accurate.

Also - Is it just going to be the one and only 2 piece model listed on the TW website?

The new series features all the same choices the Gen 1 rods had, and we have expanded with 4 2pc. models, and 2 Cranking Rods(OB2C7C, and OB2C79C)

I've seen a few prototypes rolling around the office the past few months. Something tells me it's cycle is coming up.

Thanks,
Jim

Anyone get coverage on these prototypes?

That 2 piece looks pretty sweet. I may add one to my preorder!

They really can't do much worse than the current guides. Hopefully these new ones will be much stronger.
So true! I have had nightmares with my Omen Black eyelits. They bend, the inserts pop out, they break. Errrr... if they upgraded the eyelits I'd be happy! That new reel seat looks sweet to me, and I love that foregrip. =D>

They are Zirconia. These rods look so much nicer than the Gen. 1 imo. Only one two piece casting rod though. The rest are spinning rods.

The Omen Gen 2 Rods have already shipped to the "Field and Stream" store locations. You should see them on the rack immediately.

Unfortunately, the two stores closest to me don't have them yet. I'll keep checking, though!

Thanks Matt!
