Looks like it. Nice find. I liked the original, but like this one significantly more.

I find it interesting that these will not feature Evolve guides since Evolve is owned by 13 Fishing's parent company. Also hope these Alps guides feature at least a Zirconia inset versus plain ole SS like a lot of budget rods feature.

They really can't do much worse than the current guides. Hopefully these new ones will be much stronger.

What issues did you have?
I have two but they see limited rotation, but one is a punch rod with 80lb braid on it.

i really like the looks of those!!! if they are indeed "new & improved" (considering how highly regarded the 1st gen is), then these should really be something.

Several broken guides and there isn't a trip that happens were I don't have to straighten a guide. I keep my rods in rod socks and in the rod locker when I'm traveling. Not on the lake of course. They stay on a nice wooden vertical rod rack at home. I build and repair rods which is obviously convenient for this purpose. I've never had this trouble with other rod brands. In fact I make fun of my friends for all the rods they bring me lol.

I've had one casting and a few spinning guides I've had to replace. I'm always standing them back up though just waiting for them to snap. I have no idea why they chose these other than marketing purposes.

That's my only real complaint though. The weight is reasonable and the sensitivity is very good for a $100 rod. The actions are nice too. This is where other rod companies miss.

Looks great. I wish they would have kept the open hook hanger, though.
