I really want to try one of these reels. I was hoping I could test one on the winter/spring hybrids and stripers.

I think growing up with spinning gear, I was so used to fishing lefty.. but it makes way more sense as stated above to have the rod in the dominant hand. better control greater accuracy and ease of use in my case. so im excited about these reels since I was looking at them for a while now, the trick shop makes them more enticing because we all like our own custom touches.

as for the Canadian 2 piece rod sales... im confused by that, a lot of folks around here drive trucks which stands to reason that they could fit any size rod and have it hang out the back... I like 1 piece rods however I do a lot of kayak fishing so I look for rods under that 7' mark. like your 6'7" omen I picked up a few months ago. love the price point just wish Sail carried every model of the omen series... right now all they have are 7'+ :(

I am beyond stoked for the release of the LH models! I too prefer to hold the rod in my dominant hand, in all types of fishing, I am biased from an early age however. My dad prefers to fish LH models and taught me how to fish everything that way, I've never even owned a RH casting reel. I love the trickshop and can't wait to try these reels out I hope they are as dank in hand as they look. as for my 2 cents on 2 or 1 piece, I always prefer a single piece rod except in my pack gear, and my Colorado pack gear only includes one spinning rod, and some 4piece flyrods. Don't see many 7'1" MH casting rigs out there. I don't purchase fly rods with same frequency however at all, I have my favorites and until one breaks... So the majority of my rods are 7 foot range one piecers.

argh.

no gear ratios between 5.1:1 and 6.1:1.

you do realize how much of a void there is in the market with respect to left handed reels and low gear ratio's?

6.6:1 is ok...but many options on the market with that ratio (and even more with your other two options).

very limited options between 5.1:1 and 6.1:1

The 6.6 gear ratio concepts have similar ipt to most 5.1 reels made by other companies. While I agree that not having the full product spectrum for people in their right mind, I think it won't be a huge issue.

ive been waiting for months and in anticipation, passed up father days sales for this reel, but still not a word.

I guess ive finally hit that, "I wont believe til i see" point...
