90 mm handle for my Steez 103HL?

Post by btune » Sat Feb 21, 2015 6:27 am

This reel is one of my favorites but the short handle has always been an issue. Can someone tell me if Daiwa has a factory 90 mm handle? Either the whole handle grips and all or bare handle. I can swap the knobs and bearings from the old one.

The Tatula handle is 90mm and very similar to the Steez EX handle (but way cheaper). Tackle Trap usually has them in stock (includes knobs). I think you might need a new size retainer for it though.

Found a Steez handle but it was 80.00! Tatula handle looks like it will work and at 20.00 much easier on the wallet. I think I will order the Nut, cap and screw just to be safe. this comes with one bearing and one bushing per knob. Does anyone know if I can add a bearing? I do not see bearings listed for the handle knobs??

Looks like a different style knob and cap but the stems appear to be the same?

Now my next project is to find a 90mm straight handle for my Fuego L casters!

Got the Tatula handle and have it installed on the Steez. I did install one more bearings under each knob. Not sure I can really tell much difference! Only issue I have is the Steez nut retainer's hole for the screw is slightly off on the new handle. I will buzz this out and it should be fine. The plate now covers about half of the hole for the screw so it should take only a little reaming.
For those looking for a longer handle on your Daiwa this one works well! And from the pictures I think this and the Zillion handle are the same! Thanks for all your help.
