rationale for different casting handles on '14 zillion rods

Post by 21farms » Sun Oct 12, 2014 12:54 am

on the 2014 zillion casting rods, some models have wing-like side extensions and some have a plainer handle. can you explain what the factors were in deciding which rod got which handle? at first glance, the 6'6" rods get the wing handle and the 7-footers get the straight handle. but, then, all of the other longer models get the wing handle. i can't figure out why only the 7'0" rods are different. what are the benefits of one over the other?

I do apologize for the late reply. I was talking with the R&D department and the reason for using the different reels seats had to do with the thickness of the blanks. There is a thickness difference in all the models and one reel seat did not fit.
