I have the same exact grooves in mine and a thread started here on the Daiwa support forum. Dr_Bass also has the 2 exact lines in one of his posts. I am thinking a bad die in the manufacturing and not all parts got caught. It happens.

I am curious. Has any of the posters with this grooving problem actually sent their reels to Daiwa. And if they did, what was the response from Daiwa?
The Daiwa rep(s) have on a number of occassions requested that the reels be sent in but, unless I am missing the post, I have seen no feedback from anyone that has actually done so.

I have put my line above and below the bar and have not had any problems with groovings. But would like to know from the Daiwa rep as to what is the right way.

Has anyone updated on this issue lately. I posted my twing grooving pics in the reel section, under that" post want do you think" can I send just the twing piece in question to daiwa and get another? I have two that have these issues. Thanks.
