JDM tatula spool question?

So the JDM tatula spool won't fit the usdm.. Is this because the JDM uses a smaller frame, or what? Does the JDM tatula 103 have a free floating spool?

Hi ,

I just found out today that the spools are interchangeable. The only difference between the spools is line capacity. They JDM models have a shallower spool.
