So I bought 2, 1 is buttery smooth and the other is a little sluggish. What needs to be done to correct what's going on, theses are my first daiwas in a long time ?

All of our reels have a one year warranty from the original date of purchase. If you have had your reel for less then a year I would recommend for you to send it in so we can see what exactly is happening.
If you live near a warranty center and have your receipt, you can take it to them. They can do any warranty work you may need.
If the reel is brand new, take it back to the dealer you purchased the reel and see if they can exchange it for you. If they can not exchange it, you will have to send the reel into our service department. Our address is
Daiwa Corporation
11137 Warland Drive
Cypress, Ca 90630
