Pluton clutch issue

Daiwa Rep,
What is the main cause of the clutch failing in this reel? 1/2 the time when I depress the thumb bar, I cannot engage the clutch with a turn of the handle.

Hi,

It sounds like the clutch cam needs to be replaced. I know our techs will replace the cam and the yoke when they see this issue. You can send your reel into our service department at Daiwa Corproation, 11137 Warland Drive, Cypress, Ca 90630. You can oder these parts by contacting customer service toll free at 800-736-4653.

Replaced the cam and yoke. Seems to engage a lot better now. Will wait til open water to give final assessment.
