What is the main cause of the clutch failing in this reel? 1/2 the time when I depress the thumb bar, I cannot engage the clutch with a turn of the handle.

It sounds like the clutch cam needs to be replaced. I know our techs will replace the cam and the yoke when they see this issue. Replaced the cam and yoke. Seems to engage a lot better now. Will wait til open water to give final assessment.
