Time to Spool Them Up and String Them Out... Which Reel Is Best (part two)?

Image

Introduction: When we left our four contestants at the conclusion of part one, they were a disassembled collection of gears, drag washers, sideplates, frames, and handles. Shortly after completing the previous installment, our three additional St. Croix Legend Elite EC70MFs arrived, so we reassembled the contestants with earnest and began the strategy of our continued tests. Time to spool them up and string them out.

I was very excited to read this review. I even checked the site a couple of times between pt1 and pt2. That being said, I was surprised that there weren't categories for "skipping" or "windy conditions". Maybe those would be a good head to head pt 3 winner take all tie breaker. :big grin:

Wonder how the Zillion SV would stack up against the Chronarch? I feel the Zillion noticeably better than the Tatula SV. The Zillion is also closer to the Chronarch price too. It would then be in a higher price point thanow the other way reels so...I'd consider this a win for Daiwa, with being tied with a higher price point Shimano.

Can you post the IPT of each reel side by side? Obviously it changes a bit at the beginning of a cast but I have noticed quite a large difference of IPT when comparing gear ratios. Sometimes it feels harder or easier to move a bait but you may be moving a larger amount of line due to IPT.

IPT numbers can be found in each reel's individual review - if it's one that I wrote ;)
