Simms Challenges the Notion Gore-Tex Is the Only Viable Rain Fabric

Introduction:
Anglers seeking protection from the elements have a dizzying array of choices but one brand remains the gold standard. Simms has been making fishing specific apparel since 1980 and they've been doing it with high end fabrics and designs catering mostly to the fly fishing industry. Several years ago, they turned their attention to the bass market. Their resulting success is the primary reason we now see so many other manufacturers in this same market space.

Maybe I missed it but what is the temp range for this gear? Im still looking for a good rain suit for warmer weather.

Comfortable for all day wear in temps up to about 60-65 degrees I'd say. Depends on what you're wearing underneath.

Hmm, have you tested anything for rain up to say 80 degrees, with shorts underneath? Nothing worse then having a summer storm roll in and your choices are get wet or sweat.

I don’t have any experience with summer temp rain suits, but the brand most often mentioned for those types of conditions are FroggToggs. Apparently they come in various models so you’ll have to see what fits your style and budget.

The Stormer Nano is a nice lightweight series.
