4 Techs, 3 Countries of Origin, 2 Price Points, One Goal... Which Reel Is Best? - 2018 Low Profile Baitcaster Shootout (part one)
Introduction: Head to head battles between products from rival manufacturers are always fun. Admittedly, we don't do enough of them here at TackleTour. Zander and I always discuss a handful of possibilities at the beginning of each year, but things don't always pan out. Either product ends up on the chopping block to be discontinued, or we're not able to gather the supporting materials necessary to complete the review, or sometimes we just take too long and what we had planned is no longer relevant. 2018 is proving to be a good year. We've already published our head to head shootout of two high end spinning reels and today, we're here to introduce you to our next battle.

Daiwa for the win.
I love my Shimano’s but I think Daiwa will pull this one off.
It would be interesting to see abu do something radical though.

I want to see you guys set the drags to those stated numbers and try to crank through that pressure. Bet those reels don’t last long. Those numbers are pure marketing. Never needed more than 10lbs of pressure, and we all know those drag numbers are ridiculous in a low profile baitcaster.

"On the centrifugal side, Shimano is seen as the leader, and their latest SVS Infiniti system has literally brought the manufacturer back from the brink of despair after the whole "E" incident."
Eh? What was "the whole 'E' incident"? The Curado E5 was a TT Editor's Choice:

So was the Citica 200E: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanocitica200e.html
Which Shimano model's E version was a dud?

Ah I can see the confusion here. The Curado E was a great reel. What Cal is describing is what happened was the platform was taken and converted to the Chronarch E, which didn't sit too well with fans of either series. Then the Curado G was introduced which was not a popular follow on.Bronzeye wrote:"On the centrifugal side, Shimano is seen as the leader, and their latest SVS Infiniti system has literally brought the manufacturer back from the brink of despair after the whole "E" incident."

Thanks, Zander. Maybe the word "whole" threw me off the meaning. You cleared it up quickly.

Do any of these reels have a bearing between the AR bearing and the drag clicker?

3 centrifugal reels against the Tatula SV. The Shimano SVS reel will win it unless the test includes skipping baits.
