Where did 50 some feet come from??? I never said that, I get around 40 feet with fairly good accuracy.
Rod 7' Quantum Smoke rod M/F and line 10#pps8s, lure SK bitsy minnow actual weight 0.0823oz, 2.336g
With a LTB 6'9"MLXF Im around 36'

The reference from my first quote a 3g finesse jig(actual weight not given) was used and in article a 6'10" rod rating 3/32-1oz with a good backbone 10# 832.

What distance do you guys get with small crankbaits? Do you throw them often and practice a lot? While my kids play Ill go in the backyard and throw for a couple hrs at a time practicing to get better at it and no I dont think Im the best or anywheres near. I feel I can get even more out of the reel with a better suited rod.
My bad on the 50 some, should have said forty some feet. The rod is very important but a lot of older reels have heavier spools so that is why I asked what model pinnacle you have cause like Dragboatdriver, I'm wasting money on Pixies and Steez's if you are using a 10+ year old Pinnacle to throw that light of a lure and 36-40ft. Your obviously one of the better casters I've heard of since quite a few reviews on reels anymore tend to say they do not perform as well below 1/4oz and that's with newer lighter spools and more advanced technology.

I posted my results before of the same lure/rod with a '12 JM Carbonlite reel and also 50E but had 15#pps8s and max cast with 50E was 42' got 45' but accuracy not as good so I have 3 reels that I get nearly the same distance out of. I only posted cause Im quite surprized at how well my pinnacle does against other reels being yeah its a pinnacle 10yo and only $70 yet getting the results I do. Im one of the 3 that vote pinnacle in the daiwa Shimano something else thread for this reason.

The unanswered questions is - would you get better performance with a finesse reel vs whatever you are using now?

Still interested in which Pinnacle reel model you have.
