Am the the only one that doesn't really find the side scan that useful?

Hmm. To each his own. I sure like it. It has helped me find cover, brushpiles, and fish that otherwise I never would have caught.

I use it all the time on a trolling motor mounted transducer when on the bow. It's nice to be able to parallel submerged brush lines or ledges and see subtle changes in it as well as being able to follow it precisely.

I also use HB Side Imaging on the console and bow...

Maybe it is just the Side Compact transducer isn't up the the task or something, but I have messed with enough. I'm going to sell it.

The transducer upgrade does help a lot..
