Ebay electronics

Post by Ub2m4 » Tue Mar 19, 2013 2:42 pm

Would like to do some electronics updates on my boat and will be sticking wth Humminbird, probably 800 or 900 series. Like everything the prices are going way up. I have had great luck with rods and reels , but am not as comfortable with electronics. Any good/bad experiences. Are used products safe to go with? What kind of questions should I ask. Any red flags that would make me wary. Thanks in advance

lots of info from the local members of a bass club, or checkout bass boat central.

Also, make sure to visit fishfinders.info to find out which model is getting good reviews.

Good reference, but I think he's more worried with getting a lemon from an untrustworthy/dishonest source, that which unit to buy....I think...

I'm not as familiar with the 'bird side of things but on the lowrance side, I would be concerned with getting unit that is not terribly old, but parts are no longer available...making a trade in the only option, if you were to need service. The LCX 27/28/37/38 would be an example of that...but not sure how old of units you would be looking at...current model, but used, this would not the the #1 concern, obviously.
