Need a good inexpensive graph

Post by Hogsticker2 » Sat Aug 04, 2012 12:41 am

Deciding between the Lowrance Elite 4X COLOR, and the Lowrance Elite 4X DSI. The down imaging is only 30 dollars more. I mostly beat up visible shore structure, and am not sure what to think of the DI. I rarely fish deeper than 35 feet, and that's mostly Walleye related. Am I better off just going with the standard graph. I would like to explore a little deeper water looking for structure, and I think that's where the DI would come into play. I'm also going to be using it in a slow moving craft. I can't tell if the DI just looks cool, or if when actually on the water it will shoe me a whole other under water perspective. Any thoughts? Suggestions and user experience appreciated.

I have the Elite 5x DSI. DSI really comes into its own in deeper water. For shallow stuff it looks a lot like a regular sounder but the deep stuff looks spectacular.
